Join our very own Tara Kaminski and Laurie Gunn around the island at GATHER on Wednesday June 21st from 6:00pm-8:30pm for our Interactive Cooking Experience...Feel Good Food! Together we will explore recipes from best selling author Jeanine Donofrio’s three cookbooks- “Love & Lemons”, “Love and Lemons Everyday” and “Feel Good Food”. Tara and Laurie will put plants at the center of your meal by creating beautiful, flavorful dishes. They will showcase how to include GATHER food and home products elevating dishes to the next level. This interactive class will inspire you to cook creatively while taking advantage of your local farmer’s market for simple flavorful ingredients. 

  • To begin the class, a Gather nibble board will be provided. Included beverages will be your choice of citrus water, coffee, and tea. 
  • The menu will feature the following items:
    • Summer Mocktail 
    • Little Gem Strawberry Salad w/ Lemon Dressing featuring our cold pressed California Calivirgin Olive Oils and Curio spices.
    • Zucchini Carbonara Pasta w/ Calivirgin premium extra virgin olive oil and Curio Kampot & Salt.
    • Rosemary, Lavender & Meyer Lemon Focaccia featuring our Calivirgin Oils and Curio Ferla and Lavender.
    • Fruit Dessert topped with vanilla ice cream and our Calivirgin oil.

Meet Tara Kaminski: Tara has cultivated her culinary creativity partly by choice, and partly by necessity. As a wife and mother of two, Tara has always taken it upon herself to provide nutritious, yet delicious meals for all members of the family. Aside from the various palates in the family, she also must accommodate the pescatarians in the group (Tara and her daughter), a shellfish allergy (Tara’s husband), the finicky eater (Tara’s son), and her own dairy sensitivity. It is these restrictions that spurred her creativity and allowed her to explore more exotic cuisine and create new versions of familiar favorites. Tara’s signature dish is a very simple recipe: 1 part healthy natural food + 1 part good friends and family. Mix well and allow the medley to simmer for a time and enjoy!

Meet Laurie Gunn: Laurie Gunn became interested in growing vegetables and herbs as a child. Her parents did not have a garden so she would always wander to her neighbors gardens where she would find joy in all she learned. Before the age of 10 she took it upon herself to dig up the backyard and start her own garden. Her need for creativity combined with her love for gardening has lead to her passion for cooking. It has always warmed her heart cooking with her three sons. They are all now impressive cooks in their own kitchens. Her husband Jeff... well he has dish pan hands.
